Who are Mindful Mammas?
Mindful mammas are mothers who deeply desire to embody a conscious and nurturing relationship with their babies and themselves. They recognize the power of the parenting process and wish to foster a deeply healthy, awake, and secure attachment between themselves as parent and the new baby in their lives. Mindful mammas may understand how profound the journey can be, how evocative their babies’ developmental needs are and can be, and how important it is not to undertake this journey unsupported, unheard or isolated. Mindful mammas are not perfect and make mistakes and get lost in the process sometimes, and recognize this as an inevitable part of the path of becoming a mother, which is not an overnight event, just like life itself. Rather it is a path of becoming and it is evolving over time into the mother that most matters to her, one that has deep heart, soul, spirit, integrity, and consciousness. A child raised by a this kind of mother receives a profound transmission of awakeness, breadth and depth of good will, understanding, and love.
The Deep Heart of the Mamma
Every mother everywhere wants the best for her children . No matter what her capacities or upbringing are, the moment the baby is born most often a profound surge of love and altruism emerges forward that moves her to try to be the best mother she can be. This is not to say she is able to embody all that because the reality is that sometimes she falls short, struggles and makes mistakes small or large, as all humans do. The mindful mamma herself really cares to awaken through all the human struggles new mothers go through. She cares and gives deeply and wants to nurture deeply, no matter what her abilities. She often gives tremendously to her partner and other children if she has them, and sometimes lacks the necessary support to truly nurture herself or the child with her that also needs nurturance to grow, like the careful watering she gives her child or the plants in her home or garden as they sprout too.
